Portwrinkle is at it be end of Whitsand Bay (with the stunningly beautiful and picturesque Rame Head at the other end).
Portwinkle was a traditional Cornish fishing village with a small harbour and two beaches. Portwrinkle has no shops, but does a cafe and beach bar.
The Whitsand Bay Hotel – formerly a mansion called Thanckes House in nearby Torpoint, dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick in Portwrinkle – closed in 2018. It is still awaiting redevelopment.
